Edward Charles Francis Publius de Bono (May 19, 1933 – June 10, 2021) was a Maltese physician, psychologist, philosopher, and the world's leading authority on teaching thinking as a skill. Born in Malta, he revolutionized how organizations approach creativity and decision-making.

He originated "lateral thinking"—deliberate creativity beyond logic—and created iconic tools like Six Thinking Hats®, CoRT Thinking, and de Bono Simplicity, used by Fortune 500s, governments, and schools worldwide. Author of 85+ books in 46 languages, he trained millions and was Nobel-nominated.
